Biochemic Tissue Cell Salts And Dosages
71Biochemic or tissue salts are prescribed in different dosages depending on many factors. They usually come in the form of pills or tablets and the way most people take them is four pills at a time (for adults) placed on the tongue. Ideally, the pills should be untouched by hand and should be shaken out onto the cap of the bottle and then tossed onto the tongue. No food or drink should be taken for fifteen minutes before or after a dose for best results. The pills can also be dissolved in water and sipped.
When it comes to acute diseases, higher potencies of the required salt are prescribed and this could mean that you take just the one dose of four pills or tablets or maybe a dose a day for a few days. However, in high fever or at times when the patient is in extreme pain or discomfort, these doses can be given as often as once every fifteen minutes till a state of near-normalcy is reached after which a few doses spaced out would be all that is needed to affect a cure. In cases like fever or a sudden attack of cramps, the pills could be dissolved in warm water and given to the patient every fifteen minutes for best results.
When the ailment is chronic and a lower potency salt is prescribed, the usual prescribed dosage is four pills a dose to be taken four times a day. The usual times are before breakfast, before lunch, before tea and before dinner. Hay fever for example, would benefit from months of Nat Mur 6x four times a day with a few doses of Mag Phos 6x and Silicea 6x weekly.

The number of pills or tablets also varies with age. For adults it is the standard dose of four pills a dose while for babies it is one tablet, for children 3 years to 8 years, 2 tablets and for children 8 to 13 years, 3 tablets. Any child over 13 will have to be given the adult dose.
Pets too can be given biochemic remedies and for them, the dosage will be 1 tablet for pups, 2 tablets for small animals and 3 tablets for the larger animals.
If you want these biochemic remedies to work better, you will need to cut off – if not drastically cut down – on coffee, tea, cigarettes and alcohol. It isn’t as though these salts will not work when you’re a caffeine or a nicotine addict – it just takes longer. So if you are in a hurry to get well, it might help if you practiced a bit of self-control.

I've been using Hylands Cell Salts for almost 10 years with Dr. Schuessler's Twelve Tissue Remedies book I bought online from India 10 years ago. In symptoms that calls for 2 or 3 different cell salts, what do you suggest the minimum interval should be for an effective outcome. I've always paced each dose from 30- 45 minutes before taking the next one. I know I can combine phosphates where 2 or 3 are indicated.

Hi CenteredGlow - thanks for reading! I've found that you can take them 10 minutes apart. Yes, you can combine the phosphates in a single dose - the others are usually better taken separately. If you are taking two salts on a long term basis, you might want to look at taking two doses of each during the day and spacing them out alternately four times a day.

I have an osteoporosis and decided to stay away from the strong medications and try for an year or so to improve my bones condition with Biochemical salts. From what I read in the Biochemic Salts book I self administer Calc Phos 6X and Calc Flour 6X three time daily. Calc Flour I took for about two weeks and stopped (a friend warned me that I am not supposed to take it for too long), so I wonder for how long I can take the Calc Phos.

Hi curiousmind - you can take it right through your life - these salts are harmless and what isn't required by the body just passes out.

I m a mother of 7 months old baby, he started rejecting brest milk when he was19 days old as I was given more antibiotics coz of c- section. I think he was not liking the taste. There's a biochemic compound called Five Phos - made up of the five phosphorous biochemic remedies. You could give him 2 tablets a day for a month - it's like a tonic.

Monica - that's a difficult condition to treat. You could try Natrum Mur 6x three tablets thrice a day for a week and see if it helps.

Recently I have started getting abscesses on my skin all over my body. I have had approx 12 to 15 of them in the last 2 months. They grow in size and spread just below the skin & pus gets formed in them. It's only after taking antibiotic tablets and applying antibiotic cream locally do they get cured. I am diabetic in my mid 40s but have sugar in normal range most of the time through diet & exercise. Is there a permanent cure to this through the salts. Thanks.
If you are diabetic, it would be better if you were on a course of regular conventional medicine so the sugar levels and the tendency to boils are kept in check.
Hi my daughter who is 4.5 years old has enlarged tonsils. She has mouth breathing issue. There is no other problems now (fever, runny nose etc). She talks as if her nose is blocked. We consulted a homeopathy doctor who has prescribed Five Phos (3 tablets a day for 2 months). Kindly let me know if this will solve the issue and will it have any side effect in my daughter.
Hi Ismail - Five Phos is like a tonic and is very helpful when children are growing up. You could give her 3 doses of Silicea 200 as well - a dose once a week.

I am on conventional medicine to keep sugar levels in check. As a mentioned earlier, sugar levels are in normal ranges. However they haven't helped as far as abscesses are concerned. I have been diagnosed with diabetes since last 1.5 years but abscesses is a recent phenomena i.e. for the last 2 months.

Hi Nitin - as soon as you feel the boil coming up, you could try Ferrum Phos 6x (3 tabs) and Kali Mur 6x (3 tabs thrice a day. If pus forms, add Silicea 6x 3 tabs to it. You could also try drinking the water of a tender coconut everyday to prevent the boils from coming up.

My mother is on steroids (prednisone) and calcium carbonate 500 mg daily. and a bone fixation tablet on monthly basis.he is also taking esomeprazole 20 mg daily before night.
how could i handle her treatment that her dependency on steroids will be minimum and betterment for bones and stomach acids
Hi zeeshan - once a person has started taking steroids, it might be better not to upset the treatment but to continue taking it.

Hi Anand - as you no doubt know, Tourette's is tough to treat. The good news is that many children grow out of it. Kali Phos 6x and Mag Phos 6x help - two doses of each a day.

Biochemic remedies don't aggravate symptoms before effecting a cure - this can happen though with some homeopathic meds. And yes, they can be taken with any other meds. Hope this helps!
Thanks Shalini. My sister started her boy on Kali Phos[KP]6X & Mag Phos[MP]6X, 2 doses each daily & then told me that his tics & other symptoms had increased dramatically, so she stopped both. But, she said he had played lot of video games etc the day before[ which usually aggravates], so she's not sure whether due to that or due to the cell salts. I've urged her to continue the salts & stop the videos, so let's see....
He is taking Ayurveda meds twice a day.

Hi Anand - maybe they should see how the Ayurved meds are working. Once someone feels that a certain remedy causes aggravation, it's rather tough to get the thought out of their minds. And this is a child - so see how the present meds work and if they don't, then recommend the Biochemic remedies :)
