There are physical, mental and emotional symptoms that call for the tissue salt Natrum Phosphoricum or Nat Phos for short.
How do you know of you need Nat Phos? The signs are in your saliva and your urine. All you need to do is to get yourself some pH paper from the pharmacy and test either your urine or saliva. If the reading is under 6.4, it means your pH is acidic and it calls for this tissue remedy.
Look at some of the other signs that tell you that you could have an acidic constitution. There could be a tendency to gout – with a lot of pain in the big toe - or rheumatism of the joints, the tongue and the tonsils are covered with a creamy yellow coating which screams ‘excess acid’, any discharge from the nose, throat or eyes have that same creamy-yellow color and there’s a certain ‘sourness’ in the perspiration, the saliva, the urine. When the pain in the joints grows less, there’s pain in the chest and very often it is this pain caused by acidity that makes people feel they are having a heart attack. Acid reflux or GERD also benefit a lot from this cell salt.
Eczema is yet another symptom of excess acid in the body and very often, the Nat Phos eczema manifests itself at the ankles with intolerable itching. A deficiency of this salt also results in diabetes which seems to disappear when this salt is given, washing out the excess sugar in the blood as it were.
The mental symptoms are worst at night when the person thinks there is someone in the next room and imagines he hears footsteps. And when he goes to look, his imagination makes him feel that the pieces of furniture are actually people hiding there.

Hi WhiskeyChick - Nat Phos is for itching not swelling. If it's a swelling that's due to water retention and not a sprain, you need Nat Sulph.
The yoghurt testing is done in our company lab because we have a dairy ingredients company - that was just an aside :)

Also, I'm afraid there is a mistake in the download "Biochemic Salts." Regarding the body's acidity under Nat Phos, it says "If the reading is over 6.4, it means your pH is acidic and it calls for this tissue remedy." I think you mean "under" 6.4.

A 10-minute break between the two would be good. And remember, for best results, nothing to eat or drink fifteen minutes before and fifteen minutes after the remedies.
reporting back! I have not had another gout flare-up since beginning the Nat Phos & the Calc Phos, so that's great. However the knee pain that began with my first flare-up has never gone away - I guess it's just arthritic changes. It certainly is nothing like the gout attack, with the swelling, heat and pain - but going up & down stairs is still troublesome. I lost 70 lbs. 2 yrs ago (with Dr. Simeon's HCG protocol) & have maintained. Do you think the HCG had a negative effect on my joints? Thank you for your help!
Hi scottandot - I'm so glad it's helped! It's more likely the weight had something to do with your joints. You could try adding two doses a day each of Calc Fluor 12x and Silicea 30x to the Nat Phos and the Calc Phos. Let me know in a week if those stairs seem easier to tackle :)

I have acidity problem for many years, have been on Prilosac off and on. I have some pain on the right side near my ribs and the liver. I went to a homeopath here and he asked to make to take Lycopodium 200c and I took nine doses and I have bloating and nausea from that. Hi hemangi - you could try three doses of 3 pills each of Nat Phos 6x. You could also add the Bach remedy Crab Apple - three pills twice a day. You can drink anything you want - but not half an hour before or after taking the tablets.

Hi rahat - no, they are not antidotes. However, if there is any swelling, it means you must see a doctor and have your tests done as it could mean other complications. Please stop the meds and get medical advice.
